Just last week in a Beginner Zentangle class I taught with teens and adults, I was struck by the way one of the students made a very large border on her tile (quite brave, I thought). She then proceeded to make a very striking Zentangle. Margaret Bremner, aka
Enthusiastic Artist has no end of creativity, and asked us to create a tile within a tile for this week's
Diva Challenge. I definitely want to do more of these, but here is what I was able to come up with for this go-round. I would like to try more closely following Margaret's directions with a string throughout the tile. Luckily the monotangle border of Hollibaugh gave me lots of options, since I didn't plan so well for dark and light!
This is wonderful. I think your light and dark are very well done.
ReplyDeleteYours turned out great. The inner tile really stands out. It's very striking.
ReplyDeleteNicely done! The fact that you left a light border around the small square makes it stand out, and looks a bit like a tile floating in a small window. :-)

Karen, this is beautiful! One of your best ones yet!! You go, girl!
ReplyDeleteA tile within a tile within a tile.....hmmm how small could you go? This is a very interesting design and your tiles show really well! Fun!
ReplyDeleteI originally thought the white square was the tile, then I focused on the "real" tile-in-tile. You captured this challenge! Diana Hirsch
